First, there are not "different kinds" of love - I know people say there are, and there are minor differences in say, parental love, fraternal love, etc., but the similarities outweigh the differences by fifty times.
When people abandon hope of love, they die. Their soul begins to starve then, and that hurts so they immediatley need pain killers - the only choices are delusion, mental illness or drugs or other acting out. Then once you start doing immoral things, you further bludgeon your soul, which hurts it more, which necessitates more acting out, etc. It's a death spiral.
I recently lost a friend to such a giving up. He got his heart broke twice in ten years and finally said screw this and began acting like a jerk, picking up women in bars, drinking a lot and he's gradually degenerated into a aasshole now - he used to be well liked and well respected and warm - now he's an aasshole - cold, selfish, careless of others, sloppy on the job - and that's a pretty typical descent.
That's what happens.

Love is a state of mind anyway, what you percieve as love and the next person is totally different. You could love your pets and not like the person you are involved with, love is a choice so either make the choice or not its totally up to you.
Good Luck!

A person becomes bitter and mean. They begin to hate the world and they tend to be very horrible to others.
Love makes a person and shapes a person good character.
