The complicated answer is this:
According to a 2005 congressional study, we are responsible for 36% of the worlds trade in arms. Some independent studies put that as high as 60%. Then factor in, that every congressional district depends on military contracts to employ people in their districts and that a few very rich well heeled ugly horrible monsters that think they are human are behind all of this and will do anything to keep up the hate. Such as having every politician in their back pockets.
The simple answer, because Bush doesn't give a damned and he is one of those horrible inhuman monsters.
Think Haliburton.
Think Iraq
Think Afghanistan
Think, profit at the expense of death.
I am all for capitalism, but not for war, conflict and hate. The vested interests will keep the monster growing.
Peace
Jim

First, we're talking about rep's.
The war scenario is their main foundation and recipe. This's what they're made off!
So, there comes bush, cowboy macho!! that he's and adds his own formula! "shoot first ask latter", so to speak to their
main menu to present himself as a tough southern rep!?!!
Thus, makes a big mess and causes thousands to perish,...!
Remember '''mission accomplished'' & ''bring'em on''!!!
Then he got his tail tucked up between his feet
and ate the dust!! But still not admitting his mistakes and lies!
Besides, OIL, war profiteering, arms sales and all those BS that bush will also gets his cut along the way, DIALOGUE is out of Que.!
Longer the war, useful for bush and his party.
Do you see the ignorance among responses?!!
These are also the same crowed who are supporting this clownish, maladroit president!

Sad too, because IRAN is one of the reasons why we were able to get traction and the Constitution ratified so easily with Afghanistan. Iran stepped in and spoke with the war lords to get it done. That was a month before that famous "Axis of Evil" BS that Bush did. Bush is all nice and friends, up until he has no use of you anymore and then he will discard you quicker than...lets just say...quick.

His intentions are to extend the war, and peace is not in his agenda at all. End of hostility now means disaster for economy takes place while he is still in office.
Posted link shows rapid rise of value in some of the major defense contractors, that proves the reason for better economy was war, and the end of war would bring record high unemployment, and a crashed stock market?!
(you can try the chart for Oil corps or other Defense co. and see the quick rise since 2003, the start of the war)
My Regards.

in reality Ahmadinejad was elected by Iranian people because of the USA's polcies against Iran and isolating it from the rest of the world. USA 's policies towards Iran only has encouraged to further radicalize Iran which in turn empowers people like ahmadinejad in order to assure instability in middle east. they fish by muddying the waters! this way they can justify any kinds of actions against middle eastern countries and keep exploiting them! peace

Bush doesn't talk to Iran because he wants war. War falls into his elitist plans. War is a good cover for keeping citizens busy and worried while the rich get richer and achieve more power. I love America, my family has fought and died for it for over 200 years and I grieve to see the people of the US suffer because of greed for power and money. I also grieve for all people who are suffering because of war. Everyone in the United States needs to take a stand and become as informed about what is happening to our world before it is too late. But this is just my opinion

Talk to Iran about what? That the holocaust didn't take place? That gays should or should not be executed? That Bush caused 911 and not muslims? All these things came from the president of Iran who was WELCOMED more warmly to one of our own USA HATING universities, than any conservative USA citizen.
You libs seem to think hating gays is wrong unless it's some hero like Armahdinejad, Castro, bin Laden, or Hugo Chavez. I wonder why that is? I also wonder how women can want to vote for Hillary when she THREW every woman that Bill raped, harassed or had sex with, under the bus, and yet claim to be "feminist". Hypocrisy is a standard among politicians, but you libs and dems take it to new heights.
P.S Kathy is right, I went to school with an Iranian who states verbatim what Kathy said.

Have you ever tried to talk with someone who didn't want to talk to you, or would only talk with you if you"kiss their feet"? It's not just one sided. Show me any genuine sign that the maniac Ahmadinejad wants to talk a peaceful talk. I've never seen one, he just keeps saying he wants to destroy Israel and the US. Nevertheless, we keep the door open, we've not fired any shot into Iran when we could have many months ago. Bush is showing grear restraint while Iran supplies weapons and training to kill our troops.

Diplomacy takes many shapes. Ahmadinejad is a religious zealot totally controlled by the imams. Negotiating with such people is pretty worthless. However, there are a great many Iranians who HATE Ahmadinejad and want to overthrow him. I strongly believe that the US is negotiating with THEM, but obviously doing it under the radar scope...for their sake as well as ours.

No, he doesn't really believe diplomacy is the first instrument of US foreign policy. He follows the hegemonic and militaristic ideology of the defunct neo con group, PNAC.
He believes in "a Reaganite policy of military strength and moral clarity"in which we "challenge regimes hostile to our interests and values." PNAC statement of principles
