My best friend Max has recently told me he has hated me since 2 weeks after he met me. (September of 06) We were inseparable pretty much ever since we met. he knows that I like him and has known for a while and didn't seem to really care. We used to hangout whenever we could outside of school and inside as well. Noone really believes that hes hated me since 2 weeks after he met me but why is he lying to me?

I started liking him in Feb 2007, he met me in September 2006. We were just friends in the beginning. He had NEVER liked me like that or never let it show. In the past I had asked him out but this must have been 2+ months ago and now he says he hates me? My friends say that hes starting to like me and doesn't want to lose me so hes saying he hates me.

he's angry about something and is taking it out on you because as his friend he knows that you will forgive him. give him time. dont push him about it and continue living your life as you have without him in it. if and when he decides to talk to you about what's eating him then he will. if he never does then you havent lost anything because who wants to be friends with someone who is that distrustful that they can hang out with you and pretend to be your friend when they actually arent?

It should be clear that Max wanted to be more than your "friend" and realized two weeks into the relationship that you didn't regard him as other than a friend. He hung around with the hope that "more" would develop and, when it didn't, decided to break off because "friendship" wasn't enough for him.
