How to Edit Text on GIMP photo editing software>?

Im really stuck here, still learning how to use this and it isnt going well..anybody help? I can type text but i havent a clue how to change size, colour, font etc..

Those are settings of the text tool. You have to change it before you type the text. Once you type the text, its part of the picture. It can only be edited in graphical means.
