Will it eat out of the bread and sardine?

The baby eats what you eat, basically.

So if you're eating bread and sardines, so is he/she - at least through your bloodstream and through the placenta. What will he get out of it? Protein, vitamins, minerals and sugars.

the baby gets what it needs from your blood supply - all the nutrients, oxygen etc. but small amounts of what you eat to pass into the amniotic fluid which gives it some taste. the baby can taste it and so it gets its tastebuds working. babies do drink the fluid and pass it back out to get their system up and going.

They drink the amniotic fluid which surrounds them. This will take on the flavour of whatever you have eaten.
