We have turned little boys into millionaires because they can kick a ball, They turn out with their teams as hero's ever game and have to risk it all when they turn out for England, how inconvenient of us to expect them to play well.
The way I see it is there are to many foreign players now playing in our teams so the clubs can get good results that British players are not getting enough experience to shine.

They don't need to apologise, because they are laughing all the way to the bank. The manager should not be blamed for the players' ineptitudes and lack of passion. The only reason people like Lampard were crying last night was because they realised that they had lost about £1m in match fees because they didn't qualify.

Only one guy for the job thats Jose he would kick them up the *** hard. They have misled the faithful supporters for the last time.Clean sweep needed FA first,.Beckham has to stay as being the best captain ever full of passion and loyalty to the cause.Along with Gerrard not many left after that.Owen is busy horse racing and is finished.Intl goalkeeper never ever.
Buy your England shirts at only £5 but then who would wear one.

He took a chance playing a rookie goal keeper, playing the wrong formation(when will the ever learn)as mark has already pointed out ,the team had already messed up with the goal less draw against Macedonia, lastly the manager has ultimate responsibility and therefore, should be the one apologising

he needs to apologise as it was his job to gain entry to the competition finals....

the players were playing to his formation and he was the boss

there were many more than 11 players during the campaign but only one head coach - he selects the team and selects the tactics, he is extremely well paid and was lacking in ideas from early in the role..............

he should have resigned rather than just apologised but he was canny enough to wait to be sacked so he could take yet more money for doing nothing

a poor coach and i think a poor man - (obviously not financially but morally)

More than that, why don´t the FA resign. They are the one´s employing all these managers who don´t shape up. If the buck stops somewhere, then they should do the decent thing and resign. If they want to re-evaluate English soccer then it should start with them.

Ultimately responsibility is with the Manager.

He should have picked a team to WIN, not draw.

It's the WINNING that counts, not the taking part.

*edit . Guy U, yes, pitch was appalling, and who done that? The bloody AMERICANS.

He picked the wrong 11, and played them in the wrong formation and didn't control them.

Plus, it wasn't last nights defeat that knocked us out of Euro2008, it was the goal less draw against Macedonia.

And the FA for picking him as manager after a bungled application process.

And the Groundsman who has could not bring our show piece pitch to high enough standard for a decent game.

But yes the other players especially Gerrard, Ferdinand, Lampard, Carson, Richards...

And where was Terry Venebles?

in the Royal Box!!!!
