Ok, so I'm listening intently right now and...

A couple of dogs, sirens, cars, some lady having a go at her husband (it's all very intense!), cars and a truck, a train in the near distance, a cricket? (or some other bug that has been driving me insane for the past few nights and is the reason why I am awake answering this question instead of sleeping!), cars, cars, someone doing skiddies, and more cars!

Welcome to my world!

Traffic, traffic, traffic. Childhood memory: Nana's house--a huge brick apartment building adjacent to Chicago's El [elevated train line] Granville St station: the clackety-clacketing of train wheels and the squeak of the el doors opening and closing all through the night--a comforting sound.

Depending on what part of the city, lots of sirens and traffic. If you live in the wrong part, gunshots.
