Just let them know you didn't memorize them all right away. Maybe ask them for a list of everything so that you can study them. I worked at McDonald's for awhile, but I only worked at the registers and one day they threw me back in the kitchen without any training. (they must have thought I had worked back there before, but I hadn't) I was the only one back there so I told everyone I didn't know what in the world I was doing. Some friends walked me through it and I'm pretty sure they had some papers hanging out saying what order you put things on and what you put on certain sandwiches.

Ask the manager if they have sheets that you can take home to study with all the menu screens and codes on them. When I used to work at Taco Bell, they had those for the new workers.

Smile and be polite and ask people to go slow. I know it is very confusing because I worked Drive Thru for years when I was in college and it was tough but you will learn it in time.

Just listen to the customer, be polite, smile,It will all come in time. Don`t let the nasty customers scare you, for some reason they like to take their bad day out on you.I think it is because you are in a position where you can not defend yourself, they have it in their head that the customer is always right. why are they putting you on register on your second day?Your management must have confidence in you. you will do just fine ,it will surprise you.

For the sake of your customers, have the manager explain the computer to you.
Ask the customer to go slow, smile, hit the right buttons, smile, say thank you , smile, take money, smile, make change, smile

you go girl,, have confidence, they must have seen the potential in you and knew you could do it! be proud, pay attn, get a good nights rest before work, and you can also let people know you are training, they will most likely understand,
does your mcd's let you wear and "I'm in Training" badge, if not , suggest it and maybe they will think even more of you and your willingness to be a team player! best of luck to you - you can do it,,

It can be confusing but then again, there are trainings for all jobs. Management should implement that. They won't put you into something you know nothing about because its their company's quality at stake. Right?
