My partner has just be assigned a new job in Birmingham and we currently live in Leeds so quite a distance, therefore, he is planning to stay down there and we would only see eachother every weekend. We have been together 5 years and 4 of those we have never been apart. He hates this fact aswell and has asked how i would feel about going with him not forgetting i have quite a good job and we have a house. This job he is going for is 6-8 months what should i do?

6-8 months to throw away a good job. Do not do it. Your love will last just fine and many years from now looking back it might actually build the relationship. Some people do assignments in the military and do not get to see loved ones every weekend. The time will go fast.

You gotto see how strong is your relationship. If you guys has the same view and same trust, I think it is for good, for the only 6-8 months. Don't worry, time fly.
It is very seldom that we have perfect ending for both, you wanna keep your good paying job, with your house and him, then do you think for him? Maybe his leaving is for his career advancement? Don't forget, in the year to come, say if you guys married, he need to travel to another country for few months, how can you take it if you can't now?
You guys can plan out the visiting schedule, this week I go Birmingham next week you come to Leeds etc etc. I'm sure there are funs. Look at the bright side girl.

The assignment if only 6-8 months. If the relationship is good, it will survive this time.

Well if it is a six to eight mouths then stay where you are at. If the relation ship is to be the distance will be no problem. On week ends meat half way. And have some fun. but five years and a house and no ring dose not sound to good to me.

It is only 6-8 months and you can see each other on weekends. Think of the sacrifices that made by military folks.

Once started,you wouldn't even realize how fast the time flies.A bit of separation make hearts fonder than before.So,be a brave one and let go of it.
