Dementia. To have the intelligence and wit to think and dream, then lose it all. It would have been far less painful if you had not had the ability to begin with. It's a widespread type of mental illness too, Alzheimers, which at its worst stage is temrinal dementia, can render the most intelligent and creative person forgetful and hopeful.
Those that meet people suffering from dementia in their lives, and judging from its increasing prevalence most lives will be touched by it, please give them your love and patience: it's all they ask.

Schizophrenia
Hearing disturbing voices in your head telling you too kill people and seeing things. beliving that the ones that love you are evil.

Paranoia/Anxiety
fearing that everywhere you went or did was bad and someone was out to kill you and the only thing you can do is lay in bed in fear about everything and even scared of going to sleep.
