i don't think good deeds should always be directly rewarded. or even discussed. if we are all only doing a good deed for something in return, we can't really call it a good deed anymore. you get what you give in life, and if you're a good person that does a lot of good deeds, without bragging or discussing them, it'll come back to you when it's meant to.

Although I love the saying "No good deed remain unpunished", yes I feel gratitude for good deeds and I always feel rewarding.
