I'm getting a real one, they always look and smell great, but are a mission to get rid of because the pine needles go everywhere.

Erm, Christmas trees have nothing to do with religion, they have nothing to do with Jesus. They are traditional in Europe (Germany etc) and have filtered into the mainstream over the past couple of centuries.

Real.....you cant beat the smell.

Pine needles are a little annoying, as is getting it out of the house after the new year but its worth it for the smell when you first get up in the morning.

Fake, we have a golden retriever who would no doubt get the pine needles in her paws so we don't take the risk of buying a real one.

fake one so it will be easier to put away for the next year instead of keep buying them every year having all the pine needles to clean up plus christmas wrapping paper.

Fake - it seems wrong to kill a tree for 1 month's worth of enjoyment.

And sorry to burst your bubble, Clare, but I don't think they had real pine trees in Bethlehem either.
