Explain the common phrase in electrical safety: It’s not voltage that kills, it’s current

Current passing trough body can be harmful. Voltage with out producing current is harmless.
V=IR......V= Voltage....I = Current............R = Resistance
I=V/R
Current is produced by applying some Voltage over some Resistance.
Think of Current as water flowing in a hose, now if applied to your body, your body acts as a hose !??
Further the poles are from each other, more harm is resulted. That means Current has to travel longer, therefor more parts of body get exposed to it, if heart is in the circuit, more likely current passing trough will freeze it , causing death.

My Regards.

When a person is electrocuted they become a resistor in an electrical circuit.
The voltage creates a current through the resistor
The current is a measure of how fast & how much electricity is flowing through the resistor.
So it is the current that kills, but it is the voltage that creates the current.

Suppose two buckets of water are kept. One has a low level of water while other has greater than the former. These two buckets may be called as potential or voltage by analogy.

Now if a pipe is connected between both, water begins to flow from higher level water bucket to lower level till both has same level of water i.e. from higher voltage to lower. This flow is analogus to current. Hope this helps.

see current is only produced when there is a potential difference.
when we touch a high voltage object there is a potential difference between ground,human and highvoltage object.
due to this p.d current produced a makes its way from
high potential obeject to human to ground.

since v is directly proportional to current .large voltage produces a large current.when this large current passes in human body it damages nervous system,heart etc and kils the person.
so the main thing is that due tp p.d current produces and on passing through the human body kills the person.

isn't it the other way round?? its not current that kills its voltage? im not sure mind
