Hoodoo magic is different from witchcraft (the sort practiced by WIccans).
I am Wiccan, but know a little about hoodoo (I would still consult someone who knows better than us yabbos on Y!A)
ANY running water will work - the faucet is a good idea) but I have to imagine there is at least a SMALL stream or inlet nearby that isn't affected by the oil - take it there.
I do not suggest burning it - releases are different in hooddo than in witchcraft.
An alternative appropriate for hoodoo besides the running water might be to bury it at a crossroads - then walk away without looking back. The magic will do its thing, and you will be released from having to worry about it. The crossroads are also good fro change and possibilities.

Gawd the technicalities. Perhaps the answerers should realize that to someone unsure, while we may not practice that Magick, maybe we know/have heard about it.........
For instance, the releasing of energies this way isn't partial to Hoodoo/Voodoo. I've heard that you can do this a variety of ways: burning, burying, tossing into water or into the breeze, etc. If your spell called for running water specifically and there are no streams or rivers near you, bury it and pour water over it.

Do you have indoor plumbing where you live?
Most rituals are based on 'metaphor', which means the actions are supposed to correspond to certain symbolic actions creating sympathetic responses in the act itself. Throwing the remains into 'running water' is symbolic of setting the energy 'free' (following the energy of the moving water) and, in actuality, since all bodies of moving water are actually seeking to return to the ocean, throwing the remains in the ocean itself is sorta cutting out the middle man. In other words, it can be even stronger magickally/symbolically to throw the remains into the ocean itself.
Again, you can chop up the remains really really fine and flush them down your toilet with a flush and accomplish the same thing. Failing to understand the symbolism behind the acts is partly what makes most magick so weak to begin with: all recipe and no understanding and thus no corresponding magickal linkage.

Running water is running water. What about turning on the faucet and throwing the stuff in the sink or tub? Would that work?
BTW, are you helping with the oil spill? Just curious.

people that practice houdou are houdouns. houdou and wicca don't exactly travel in the same circles.
My next question is why do people always address wiccans Want about the Morganites in this world? I'm slightly offended.

You seem to be mixing rituals. The results may not be as you desire them to be. If you are wiccan, remember the threefold law.

You can burn the entire thing. Burning releases the energies just as well.
