The fans are a joke, they see nothing wrong in booing the team they allegedly support when their sole function is to cheer them on.
I think the so-called fans should be sacked.
And don't give me that nonsense about them paying huge sums of money giving them the right to boo, it doesn't, it simply proves that they are stupid.

You are right in one sense Heather.... Croatia was by far the better team on the night, but someone has to take the blame for the failing. Manager and team were useless last night. There were a couple of very brief moments of class play from England, but the Manager HAS to take ultimate responsibility. England have NEVER won using the 4-5-1 formation they played last night. The Manager knew this, and still used it. What does that tell you ? Who is to blame ?
With Rooney already out, why have a friendly 5 days before a crunch game, and have your only other striker getting injured ? Someone, somewhere has to held accountable for these failings... McTwat, the FA, the players...who ?

I think the problem is the system, there is so many club games and the National squad don't get enough time together to learn to play as a team together. I agree it is wrong to blame one person for the loss, rather find a solution to the problem. There is enough talent in England, but the England team was never very good in the last 10 years. Croatia should have been a walkover and England was overconfident going into the game and it cost them. Croatia just played together as a team better.

I'm going to sound awfully sexist here and I really don't mean to be, but it is obvious that you are a girl, and while I accept unreservedly that girls do understand football and to specifically reinforce a stereotype by suggesting that they don't I have to explain that this has less to do with football and more an explanation as to why the man needs to get the sack....As for nasty..well...
I'm going to sound awfully patronising here and I really don't mean to be, but it is obvious that you are a girl, and while I accept unreservedly that girls do understand the need to get their nails done when the old ones gets a bit chipped through wear and tear and if the person who applied the nails and polish was incompetant, one might say oh I'll let it go this time, but then, after paying good money, the second, third, and fourth times there does come a time when enough is enough, and that person has to go because your nails are in such a state that everyone notices .......Well,.... same thing! There comes a time when ones head becomes too heavy. LOL

It wasn't just one game. England don't have the passion or the players to be a world class team. It's time to go back to basics and start from grass roots level.
We need soccer schools and academies to train lads who show a natural talent. We need to invest in the future.

Becks was the only guy running around with a sense of urgency, good for him, and him excluded, the rest of the team / m'ment are out for their own egos.
i think it is just a case of too much money and not enough brains, and this applies to other sports as well.
I think FA should has used a top premier side to play for England, at least they work , train as play as a team. Not like a band of over paid prims donas looking for the spot lights.

At the end of the day, we should be able to qualify to Euro 2008, and we didn't.
Beckham turned the game around and should have been on from the start and generally it is said that the team did not play their best or have the determination to win. This is the managers fault.

Because when you earn millions of pounds you need to be seen as deserving it.
Higher risks = higher potential rewards if you get it right and much more to lose if you get it wrong.
In business, if a CEO earned as much as McClaren does and managed to send his company into liquidation (which is basically where the England team are in sporting terms), he'd be out like a shot.

Because most of the athelete's and coaches walk around like they are gods gift to the world of sports, with their 100000 pound a week salaries, and multi-million pound endorsment deals. When you do that, you best get results, or you are going to get hounded and critisised. I think if they were on average salaries and played their guts out. I not only think they would have won, but even we lost, they could have held their heads high.

Why shouldn't we?
Should the people of this country who pay McClaren an absolute fortune not expect at least a certain level of competancy?
Shouldn't we expect something for our money?
There is pride in losing a game where we played well, where these guys who are some of the worlds best players make an effort, where they tried but that wasn't what happened.
They weren't just bad, they were appauling.
