If you have a standard PC open the case and find out what the make and model number of your motherboard is. Then go check the motherboard manufacturers website.

If you have a laptop this is not so easy so get the laptop make and model details from the bottom of the case and then check the laptop manufacturers website.

The best way to get comprehensive details is to search typing only the name or model number into your search engine.
You will find tons of info out there for even the most forgotten motherboards ever made that way.

one way is to look at the motherboard's chipset, it should be on the norther part. It should give u the model name, from there just google it and it'll tell yah what it can support and can't support.

OR just read the motherboard make/model and chipset on screen with CPUZ:
http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
Then post it here or do your search of the specs/features on the maker's site.
