Well you better start with a true premise instead of that false one.

Here's the deal. Is the premise that we have to build more prisons to lock up the contractors that build sorry houses.
Or is the premise that because a person has a poor home life he may end up in prison?
Either way my biggest problem is the use of the word "we".
It sounds to me like the essay is to be written for a collective and/or socialist agenda.
You see "WE" have less affect on someone's home life than "YOU" do.
In other words "WE" don't dictate how people should live their lives as much as individuals do.
In other words if "WE" are supposed to control someone's home life I can only say that you need to get off the internet and go write your essay.
"WE'RE" only saying this for "YOUR" own good.

this in part is due to a majority opinion that poor people are somehow criminals, so better to lock them up in one huge prison than help them get their own home! this kind of attitude demonizes otherwise decent folk who just need a hand up not a hand out. but theres good news, there are still orgs like habitat for humanity out there, and those who want to live in the home kind of contribute by volunteering to help build those homes. having shelter is a fundmental right, should apply world wide. then there wouldnt be such a need for more prisons, since those poor folk would have homes and would not be in the public to 'scare' the normals into such discriminatory attitudes! duh.

I agree with the previous post. I would report the teacher. I think it is such a biased and negative view to push onto students. I assume this teacher doesn't have children otherwise she would be a hypocrite.

If I were you I would tell your parents, have them go down and ask them why the teacher is filling your head with that socialist crap. I think your teacher should be fired...
