Looks like Rudd has the lead in more ways than one. Will it really be for the better of Australia?

With Labor in power.. will it be a step forward or a step back for all Austrlians?

For Peacedude - you are correct, LABOUR the word is how we spell in Australia. But the LABOR party is the correct spelling too in Australia. I have no idea why they left off the "u", but they did - check out some ads on TV and you will see that's how the Labor Party spells their name.

Back to the question, it does look like Kevin Rudd will win - but who really knows? They reckon the polls have shown before that John Howard would not win, and yet he did. I think it will be a close call. I for one can't wait until it's over and they stop spending our hard earned taxes on this ridiculously expensive campaign. I don't think a change in Government is going to make much difference to me - I am still going to struggle financially. I can't afford to buy a home. Hospital care will still suck. Schools will still suffer and rely on parents to fundraise. All the bloody parties suck!

How can we move forward, if we have a leader who hasn't been a leader for anythign before? And who knows, we could all change our mind when we vote.

I just hope that we vote for a party that will help us MOVE FORWARD.

I reckon, we should give Greens a go. I haven't heard of them win before. I think that they will give us a better environment. Personally.

But please Australia, vote who you think will make us go forward. I dont want to have problems.

By the way, do you own a business/company??? If you do, I wish you luck if Labour Wins. * Labour is the spelling here in Australia. Labor is the American way. Just to let you know*

I disagree, polls dont mean anything on the day. I dont think the opposition are offering anything different to the government we have now, though if the media get onto this stupid fake letterbox thing the libs did in Sydney then THAT could cost them the election. We've all seen governments come back from the death on the polling day. I agree that its close though and I wouldnt want to put my money either way. All we can do is hope they spend money on health, schools and roads...and soon!!

It does seem like there could be a change in government, however a few people i have spoken to are voting Liberal - so who knows? One is no better than the other. Wish we could have an election where my mind is made up definitely, instead of picking one only because i don't want the other one

If Rudd gets in you're going to have big troubles, as he seems so PLASTIC! can just see that he's not genuine.

Best if everything was left to Howard, for now.
