I have had my first bub 4 months ago. I started on the contraceptive pill 2 months ago and have taken it right through (skipped sugar pills, continued on active pills to skip my period) so far. Just a few days ago, i started getting cramps as if i was going to get my period, but i have continued to take the pill - now its like ive got a period - not just light, normal period flow meanwhile im still on the pill - whats the deal with that?? I know its a bit personal, but i need to know

This bleeding that you are having is called breakthrough bleeding. It is bleeding that acts a lot like a period. It can occur because of taking the pill to skip periods. It takes the body 6 months to fully adjust to taking the pills in this fashion and during the process the body is going to try and force itself to bleed because it's used to having a period, but really isn't.

I have run in to this problem before in an attempt to take the pill so as to skip periods to try and help control endometriosis.

It scared me the first time it happened because I thought it was my period too til I found out it was breakthrough bleeding because of the body trying to adjust to this. After 6 months things settled down.

I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
