If you like reading non-fiction, about what goes on nowadays - I recommend these two -
1) "Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader"
written by Bradley K. Martin
2) "Rogue Regime"
written by Jasper Becker
These two well-written books give an insight about the North Korean Government.
Fiction?
Try all the books written by Clive Cussler.
The hero is Dirk Pitt, with his sidekick Al Giordino. These are well-written.

Dean Koontz writes in a different style than most. His books are towards the Horror/Suspense genre. He does from time to time go soft and write books like the Odd Thomas Novels. There are three Odd Thomas, Forever Odd and Brother Odd. Theyre worth a look see.

I have just finished reading "World without end" by Kenn Follett, which is more or less a sequel of his "Pillars of the
Earth". Both are historical novels about the building and maintaining of a Gothic Cathedral in Middle Ages England. I love both novels. They are a bit long, but very good.

THE BOOK THIEF by Markus Zasak -- absolutely wonderful. It's labeled YA, but so much more than that and should appeal to adults as well. I'm a very picky reader, but I was very satisfied. I highly recommend it.

Books by Paulo Coelho are good. They are thought-provoking and deep. I would recommend The Alchemist and Warrior of the Light.
