If you are willing to pay a lot of money then getting a workstation card would be the best option (and considering what some of those programs cost the workstation cards can seem pretty cheap, despite being so much more expensive than what gamers think are the best cards).

The nVidia Quadro and aTi FireGL cards are optimised for work like 3D CAD and typically approved by the companies that make the software so if you can afford them, something from one of those lines will probably be your best choice.

If they are a bit expensive for you then a high end gaming card set up to optimise for quality should be able to do the job pretty well.
