weighing that much he should be due very very soon. I'm due December 15 and wasn't sure when my last period was but i did know that it was in march and the ultrasound said 12/15/07 4 days after my b-day. all i can say is to stay prepared.

I think from statistics that your best bet would be Jan 7th as the earlier the scan the better judgement on due date....the later the scan the more likely for differences between feotal growth rates.
read this, it might make more sense for you.....

"If we obtain ultrasound measurements in thousands of pregnancies where we know the exact gestation, we can find the average measurement for any given gestation. For example, it is known that for a measurement known as the crown-rump length (CRL), the average is 31 millimeters at 70 days (10 weeks) gestation.

An ultrasound due date reverses this observation to conclude that if a baby's CRL is 31 millimeters, then the pregnancy must be 70 days gestation. If you know the current gestation, you can calculate the due date by subtracting the current gestation from the average length of a pregnancy and adding the result to the date of the ultrasound. For example, if you did an ultrasound on a pregnant woman on June 23, 2002 and found a CRL of 31 millimeters, you would conclude that the pregnancy was 70 days gestation. If you subtract 70 days from 280 days, you get 210 days. If you add 210 days to June 23, 2002 (the date of the ultrasound) you get a due date of January 19, 2003.

Hope that helps. Even though it will be hard to wait another 5 weeks, its better for baby and you if he/she stays in there a bit longer! Get your doc to check your fundal height (vertical belly measurement) with a tape measure and see the the measurement in cm's in roughly about 35 weeks as coincidentally this a great way to check gestation in average sized pregnancies.
Also a baby of 35 weeks gestation is approximately 5.5 pds so that would also say you are due about 7th Jan.

Good luck!

through my pregnancy in the beginning my date change a few times and i think they go by how big the baby measures thats how they determine when there expected so i think you would go by the new date they have just given you. you can always them to make sure or get a second opinion although your little man can come whenever he's ready. ( : you'll know when hes coming, best to pack a bag now just in case. good luck and congrats!!!!
