I grew up in the north but have been in the south for 15 years so I can comment a bit on both.

The North: LOTS of museums, colleges, universities, good beaches, rolling new england countryside, awesome fall colors, chowder, clam cakes, great ice cream, no-nonsense, once a friend is made is a friend forever

The south: affordable housing, fall colors (in N. ga), people sweet (to your face-even best friends talk about each other behind their back); not shoveling tons of snow, lots of variation between states, affordable

Of course location is everything. Atlanta is much more affordable than say Charleston, SC. Climate is dependent on location as well. North GA is more like new england in some ways but coastal GA is almost tropical.

Good Luck!

I live north of the Mason-Dixon line about 100 miles, so that's north, but I believe that I'm south of the imaginary line that bisects the US's land mass, so that's south. The answer is yes. Any place I live is good because I'm alive. There's always weather, plants of some sort indigenous to the region, fresh air, people of all sorts,a variety of pastimes, and usually unique opportunities to do something.

i'm a REALTOR® contained in the upstate of South Carolina. I even have lived on the coast of sc, and the place I presently stay now for many of my life. i will genuinely say that the city of Greenville is the main needed place for folk interior your age group. I even have associates from Cali. and that they have got mentioned persistently that the upstate is maximum like Cali- merely look on the map- we are right away around the continent from you! in case you trip to the capital Columbia or right down to the coast- till you have an wonderful job there in the past you progression, the percentages of looking a powerful one are narrow. the superb place to stay is between 2 substantial cities- the better of the two worlds. Greenville is approximately 2 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina, and Atlanta, Georgia. the line is going the two approaches, and divides the city in one million/2. dwelling alongside the coast is ineffective contained in the iciness, and overpopulated with vacationers in summer season. in case you reside contained in the Upstate nonetheless, you're purely 4-5 hours far flung from the events on the coast- that's the sole reason everyone might desire to stay there any way- because of fact the quite large paying jobs, leisure, particularly predictable climate, way of life, and so forth. is contained in the upstate the place you have get entry to to many, many, many large places to be certain, consume, and meet human beings.

I'm from the south, Florida. It's great living in FL b/c of the nightlife via MIA and FTL. Also great weather, but luckily we haven't had any hurricanes in the last two years. Besides that, just chilling at the beach or visiting your neighborhood B&N is always good. The malls too.

The South, the great state of Texas. It's warm here most of the year... It's in the 40's today and people think we are all going to freeze to death. But I grew up in Nebraska, so I can aprreciate this warm winter :)
