you didn't know how to use it, would you take it as a compliment or an insult?

He didn't mean it personality-wise. He said I have the best personality. But he meant like I don't get dressed up enough, I don't show off my beauty enough, therefore in that way don't know how to use my beauty.

take it as an advice :) i know many pretty girls that simply act, dress, talk in such a way that kills their beauty. And then i say, "this girl could be the most beautiful girl in school, she has all chances, but has more to work out on her personality". it happens.
and also that person might have meant that you are not aware of your beauty, and don't have enough self esteem to show it all, to make it shine.

there can be many reasons why someone say this.

maybe you have the looks, but not the right personality, maybe he was attracted by your beauty, but he is afraid also.

hope i could help :)

Can go both ways. But mostly it's a compliment. Because you are beautiful, but they are saying you don't use it properly, whatever that means. Just be who you are.

i would take it as a compliment.
the person is giving you a compliment but telling there is something he does not necessarily like
and i know that i cant please everyone so if i did not really care for that person i would leave as that

Insult, what that means is you have no personality or character....good moral being. You're a flake. Hey....he said it not me.

nyther, I'd consider the source and feel sorry that they felt the need to be judgemental, then keep on being as beautiful as you are!!!

What did they mean, like to get guys? That's kinda stupid. You don't, "Use" Beauty to get guys, you only, "Possess" It. What kind of guys like your type of beauty is the TRUE question.

It depends upon the person who says this sentence, and upon the way of saying these words.

I don't know, but I would ask him to explain to me what he means.
Usually when someone tells something like that , in my opinion, means that probably you should use your looks because you are unable to do anything else!!

I would welcome that kind of remark, not an insult or compliment but a challenge or wake up call...that i should do something to improve it and give thanks to that somebody!
