Are they so anti-Bush that they can't even notice the progress our troops have made.

You have to read between the lines to find the answer in this one. The media stopped covering the war almost entirely because the positive news was too hard to cover up.

When things werent going well, its was the liberal media that was there ramming it down Americas throat.

Even the notion of it makes them red faced.

They would much rather simply not have the issue brought up than to have to face the success of this presidency AND he did it fighting not only terrorists, but his own congress every step of the way

Seems dems don't appreciate the fact that the man who made THEIR president look like a fool throughout his terms is now rolling over in his grave at the hands of a Republican! Nor, will they ever acknowledge that bin Laden also took advantage of the complacent wimp that Clinton was.

Sillier still is the fact that they ever thought we would ever be pulling all troops back out of Iraq. The government has asked us to stay and it would be totally remiss of us to pull out. But then, national security has never been a dem strong point, as evidenced by those lax Clinton years that culminated in the terrorists' successful second hit upon our WTC.

Unless we're planning on occupying the country for the next three or four decades, any progress made by a surge will evaporate once we pull the troops out of the country. It will occur tomorrow, and it will occur ten years down the line.

The surge is just another hapless military strategy designed by an administration that cares more about it's legacy than the people of Iraq. A strategy that may have worked three to four years ago, but will really not make much of a difference.

Maybe you could get the answer you want by water-boarding us! We refuse to admit to something we don't believe! What the military is trying to do is calm everybody down and get back to the way Iraqis lived before we invaded. What about the thousands of Iraqis who fled and will come back to a home that has been reduced to a pile of rocks. Sunnis and Shiites used to live side by side, play sports together, go to school together, and even marry each other. They are not so friendly with each other now, are they? Maybe they will unite to fight the terrorists, but the terrorists were not there before we invaded. Maybe they will be able to get back to the way they were!

Well - I just heard about the soldiers who were gunned down on the day before Thanksgiving while they were trying to hand out toys to Children...

It was only their 4th day in Iraq...

So, if that's progress... yay! (u must be so happy...)

Perhaps you find the numbers "acceptable" but I don't...

It is great that violence in Iraq is down. But please tell me how this is getting us closer to an exit strategy? Bush has said he wants to maintain troops in Iraq for 50 years. That is unacceptable and a contradiction to his promise that the war in Iraq would be quick and decisive.
The Iraqi administration is no closer to being able to govern the country itself and the troops no closer to being able to come home. The only sane definition of winning a war is no longer needing to fight it. Nothing about the Bush administration's strategy is getting us any closer to that situation. We have no problem with our troops - just the lies and incompetence of our current administration.
As long as neo-cons continue to intentionally cloud this issue with accusations of a lack of patriotism we will continue to flounder politically in this area.

They whine and cry about having lost 3, almost 4,000 in over four years of fighting and would have you believe that the war is lost and that anyone being sent there will die there. The battle for Iwo Jima lasted just 36 days. We lost 6,821 Marines and sailors. Can you just imagine if this same lot of whiners had lived then? They've invested their whole lives in playing the victim. It's hell having to grow up and face reality head on. Hey Diques, pull you head out of your hind end. I've already done MY 20. The question IS when are YOU going to do more than blow hot air?

I agree with you, but don't you see? It is only a stop gap measure. This Administration has failed to provide a solid solution in the rehabilitation of Iraq.

Ok, yes it worked, what then????? My friend it is still empty.....

Sure it's working, the same as Hitlers' invasion of Poland worked. Same principle. Same mind set.

hey diques 10, what did old Saddam kill all the Kurds with?Maybe he used them all on them ,right,Don't think so ,they are hidden in another country that just can't wait to drop them in your back yard. But you won't believe that until you are chocking on their fumes,or,maybe you will wake up and understand those people (all extreme Muslims) want to kill you.
