Well he granted a tax reduction prior to launching an invasion followed by a extended occupation and then kept the tax reduction in place. This caused the government to assume large and increasing debt in order to finance the war as well as continue social services. Now we are cultivating hostility with our largest debt holder, China. If China should call its debt then we will be unable to honor it and will be economically insolvent as a nation.
If that doesn't contribute to our downfall then I have no idea what will. Also his actions had to be intentional unless he somehow is so stupid that he accidentally created the perfect recipe to bankrupt our nation in less then 10 years.

I'm amazed that more people aren't upset about the latest revelation by Scott McClellan. It's one thing to think about doing something malicious to one's perceived enemies, but an entirely different matter to share those thoughts with others. They must know one another very well to even discuss something like plotting to destroy a CIA agent's career as "payback" for her husband's insistence on the truth. Then to actually do it, from the White House. We're talking more than a character flaw here. So what other little secrets are they in on together? We need to see the missing emails...

George W. Bush proved to the world that a man with a very limited knowledge of the USA, the world, people, what is correct and then again what would prove to be a disaster has taken the USA and changed it totally. It will undoubtedly take years to repair the damage that this man and his lackey have done to our country. Let us not do it again. Let us try to elect a person who can run the country with dignity and promise for the future that will be on track and maintained with dignity. These are not merely words for the masses because they love to hear them. This is the truth and what we should be striving for. No one should take this election lightly. It is very serious stuff and could mean the rejuvenation of America or its demise.

American society was on the skids well before G. Bush came along. Case in point -- re-electing a president AFTER he admitted lying to us; slaughtering 3-million babies every year; need drugs of some kind to get through the day;never accept responsibility for your actions;turn loose convicted felons because they might be uncomfortable in prison, ad naueum.

There is no "downfall" of American society. We have the highest standard of living in the world or perhaps you were unaware of that.

I am more inclined to believe liberalism is a greater threat to America than President Bush could ever hope to be.
