I would say the greed of the people and lack of morality also has a play in this, and that goes for both sides, the prosecutor as well as the client. It's the american way--if a dollar can be made, be sure that someone will be out there taking it from you.

I'm annoyed that McDonald's weren't willing to accept responsibility for serving coffee at scalding temperatures and had to be forced to provide compensation by a court. People spill coffee all the time without getting third degree burns so if McDonald's coffee is causing third degree burns then there's something wrong with McDonald's coffee.
Most lawsuits don't come from people who refuse to accept responsibility for their actions (though of course there are some) but from people who are fed up with another person or company that refuses to accept responsibility.
Frivolous lawsuits tend to be rejected pretty early on in the judicial process so they aren't really a problem (and most of the examples bought up by those who want to change the legal system either never happened, were misrepresented and weren't frivolous or got thrown out early).

Ummm...yeah.
And don't always blame the plaintiffs either. Often times lawsuits are filed because the defendants are the ones being stubborn and unreasonable. If a plaintiff has clearly been hurt from the negligence of the defendant, but the defendant wants to be pigheaded, lets not blame the plaintiff for hiring a lawyer to sue.
Many lawyers will write nice letter to defendants and try to open a line of communication to work towards a settlement before filing a lawsuit. Most of those times the nice little settlement letters find themselves in "file trash can".
I know that many insurance companies deny claims and you have to sue to get them to even acknowledge you.

I agree. The lack of self-responsibility, greed, and sometimes just stupidity from both the people and the judge has filled up our court system. We need to stop frivolous lawsuits.

Yes. We are forgotten our responsibilities. Values, moral, sacrifice, etc.are the things of past and remain in the books only. It is a great pity that we have to wait for justice based on others wisdom !

True..in todays world, we sue over the most incompentent of things. There are much larger lawsuits that need attention from our judicial system..state and federal.
