UNC, then Duke, then UF. UF started the season unranked. remember that.

Hey Shark,
Right now i would say that UCLA is because they are playing at a very high level and without several key components.
They looked dominant in the 2nd half yesterday against a very talented Michigan State team and the minutes that Russell Westbrook if playing right now (in the absence of Darren Collisson- arguably one of the best point guards in the nation) is invaluable to his development.
Talent-wise i would have to say Memphis is the most dangerous team in the country and who knows how much better Derrick Rose will be 20 games from now- although the same could be said of Kevin Love.
UCLA is looking like they are already thinking about March and playing into April and i have yet to see them play the same level of defense they played in the tournament last year- which will pick up especially once Collison returns.
With the new component that Love brings offensively and with Stanback, etc. i think if they can play the type of defense they've played the last several years- they've a great shot to be this year's NCAA Champs.
They do have to improve their free-throw shooting tremendously though.

A strong case can be made for any of three teams: Memphis, UNC, and UCLA. I will give a very slight edge to UCLA because they have been to two straight final fours without a dominant inside presence. This year, not only do they have that in spades with Love, but they don't have to worry about facing Noah, Brewer, Horford, etc. this time around. I would not be suprised to see Memphis or UNC take it, but if I were a betting man I'd bet on the Bruins this year.
Note to cgorange: the Pac 10 is as deep this year as it has ever been and will be the toughest conference in the country. UCLA will be tested plenty week in and week out.

Duke will be the number one college team in the nation but watch out for Gardner Webb and Davidson this year those teams probably won't be number one but they will shock a lot of folks.

It has to be North Carolina. They were legitimately the most talented team last year, and they virtually lost no one. They still have talent and are now more experienced. The Tar Heels are one of the front runners right now.

UCLA. The Pac-10 is weak this year and UCLA should walk through their schedule.
