my cousin's are over and we just started talking and somehow we got to politics and this came up..

30 is about right. I haven't been keeping an accurate count but I know it's still less than half of the US States that have added sexual orientation to the list of protected characteristics.

Incidentally - to the person who said that it would be hard to prove - in "employment-at-will" States where sexuality is not a protected characteristic, just "thinking" someone is gay is all it would take.

In an employment at will State (And almost all States are "Employment at Will") you can fire someone for ANY reason that isn't forbidden by law.

No. It's already the case that in those states an employer can fire someone for being gay. The dems tried to pass legislation to make it illegal but they didn't have enough support from republicans in the senate.

idn, but...well... that would be interesting.
sort of hard to enforce tho right, seeing as companies still hire illegal immigrants without being caught and homosexuality is much harder to prove?
where'd you hear this anyway?
