normally ratio is based on unit denominator( base) , like 1/10 i.e. one tenth,. Percentage is when base is 100. I/10 in unit base will be termed as 10 %.

well a ratio is something like 3:2 a ratio illustrates the relationship between two things.
You know what a percentage is.. is is the relationship described in a percent format, meaning OUT OF 100.

It's the same concept, just stated differently. A ratio might be 1 to 10, the corresponding percentage would be 10%.

dividend payout ratio is TOTAL PROFIT AFTER TAX divided by NUMBER OF SHAREHOLDERS. dividend payout percentage is dividend pay out ratio MULTIPLIED by 100.
