I walked in on my best friend of eight years bouncing up and down on my wife (x wife now) enjoying her sexual skills. After that our friendship kind of drifted away.

I am just recently losing my best friend. I always though that she was a really good friend and we have been friends for six or seven years now. But recently I have been noticing that she is a rather jealous person, and she hates it if anyone, including me, is better off than her. It's really upsetting because I honestly thought that she was a really good friend of mine, and now I can't even think of a good reason to be her friend. It's going to be hard cutting the ties because she is really good friends with all of my other friends and so I really can't do anything without possibly losing alot of my friends in the process. But that's life, and I know that this is the best decision for me. Because really, all she has been doing was making me feel horrible for being happy. In the end, you should just think of what is best for you, and know that you can always make another friends, no matter how close or how difficult this will be. You cant hold onto something that doesn't want to be held onto. Good luck. :)

Losing a friend that you really care about is the worst thing that can happen, or at least one of the worst. My best friend of over 3 years and I started drifting during my freshman year in high school and things kind of went downhill from there. The thing is, I don't know if we ever were that close. It's a weird feeling how you can talk every night for hours with someone but not really know who they are. I guess it was because I was, and still to an extent, still am a repressed person who cannot show their emotions easily...
Anyway, she and I are slowly making progress relearning, but it might take a while since we have both changed so much. We might not ever make it, but at least I can say I tried.

i left high school with 14 real friends and now i have only one and this new friend wasn't even one of the 14 i had to begin with some i lost to them doing drugs and alcohol we all fought on a regular basis but that didn't change our friendship at all its good to have disputes from time to time over the years Ive lost all 14 due to one reason or another mostly their lives went wrong and they couldn't take it anymore so they ended their own lives now I'm the only one left alIve and it sucks majorly Ive often pondered their choices and wondered if this would be my fate as well i loved them all as if they were my brothers and ive never felt comfortable trying to make new friends because losing them still bothers me so much i haven't talked to the friend i have now in about 2 years so i don't know if you would really call that a friendship or not anyhow Ive rambled long enough hope this helps

I have lost a few to drugs and alcohol. It always comes down to the money issue. They want to borrow and then can't pay back and it becomes a vicious cycle.

yup! all things are went smoothly as usual until this guy, jimmy, step up between us. well, both of us like this guy so much but we didn't say anything.. until at one evening as i walked my dog at the park i bumped with jimmy. we had a talk about school, dog and all the stuff. suddenly, he told me that he fell for my friend. i'm pretty depressed to heard it yet still acting cool until my friend said something really offensive about me towards her other friends b/c she think i'm going out with jimmy. i did tell her about what jimmy told me but she never believe me. since then, we never talk with each other anymore.
