Yes according to the Christians a murderer, serial killer rapist is worthy of heaven if he believes in Jesus and repents, while the others that held different beliefs,no matter how good they were, they all deserve eternal torture. Christianity is messed up beyond belief! edit: I really do not understand why would you want to follow a God that uses threats of eternal torture?what kind of God would that be? I am not an atheist,I believe there is a beautiful force in the universe, that LOVES and does not send anyone into a torture chamber for eternity just because they did not believe in that particular faith. The God Christians have made up is revolting. Even the jews do not believe in hell ,or that a God could be such a monster like Christians made him up to be. Many believe in a universal force, called it God, and are not Christians. Why does Christianity have the arrogance to think they have monopoly on spirituality?

Well since throwing yourself on a hand grenade has been removed from the possibilities, let's try this...
Taking care of crack babies. You know what's wrong with them, but there is nothing that you can do for them to make it better. AND you know that they don't stand much of a chance of making it, yet you still go in every day and hold the poor screaming infants.

I'd say it would be thowing away your dreams, hopes, and goals; and become more human than human. To put yourself in extreme and constant danger, fighting evil, to protect the innocent that cannot defend themselves. To be a HERO.
