made it to hospital doctor got it out with his thing and said i have a scratched cornea and got me anitibiotic ointment to put in. Said 4 times a day. But ive only did it 3 times yesterday.Should i put it in more then 4 times a day then or more?I rubbed it once yesterday on accident hurt alot! should i wear a eye patch tho he said i dont have to?i get paranoid bad about somethings so when it says keep eye shut as much as possible how long should i? and i play games and watch tv alot ! should i keep it shut during those times?also says wear shades but i dont have any! been 1 day so u know i got paranoia.The pain is on and off is this normal?What exactly should i do to keep it out of bright light?been 48 hrs since i got the thing out and its been scratched.How much longer?

just wondering but does smoking weed affect it?Ever since i got it i stoped smoking.

I'm presuming that your doctor told you that you have a corneal abrasion without signs of infection. If this is the case, it should be entirely healed 5 days after the injury.
The purpose of the antibiotic ointment is to,
1) Prevent infection
2) Provide a soothing film of ointment over the scratch to relieve pain.
So, don't lose any sleep over missing one dose. Just do your best to take it four times a day in the future.
The suggestions about keeping the eyes shut and wearing sunglasses is intended to promote your comfort. If you find that they don't promote your comfort, you need not bother following them.
See the doctor if you're not fully healed in 5 days, if you have worsening of vision, or if the eye gets red or more painful or starts having discharge.

The healing time required depends on the size and depth of the scratch. You did the right thing by going to your optometrist. If your eye is still bothering you, call your doctor.
