I'm thinking about doing it just to test it out. I have a yamaha r6 and my headlight has that haze to it and also my windshield. Should i just replace them or does heating them in the oven make sense. Anyone tried putting headlights or the windshield from a motorcycle in before?

The oven trick is for lights that have condensation inside of them. They make cleaners to remove the haze on them.

Plastic polish...the main reason your windshield is "foggy" is most likely from using paper products on it, such as paper towels, Kleenex, etc. No matter how soft they may feel, they contain millions of sharp little fibers that will wreck the smooth finish on plastic. Always clean with cotton cloth and plastic polish or Maguire's Instant Detailer. That stuff cuts bugs like crazy! Nothing wrong with warm soapy water, either...

A glass light would crack and plastic would melt. Plastic is sometimes flame polished. Sanded with very fine paper and a quick pass of a blow torch to lightly melt the plastic so it becomes clear (removes fuzz)

You can buy a headlight refinishing kit at any auto parts store. It's made by Permatex and costs about $10. It includes sandpaper and plastic polish. Works great.

No. That's ridiculous. It's heat that fogged it up in the first place.

They're not glass.
They are plastic and would melt.
