They're cute because they want to show affection for each other but are both kind of shy, so the way they come together and grow closer to each other is usually extremely gentle or timid and it is very cute to witness.

You're fifteen and have 'decent relationship experience'? Anyway, no worries about what you'll look like. I know that always crossed your mind when your younger, but in the long run if you two get to share a great relationship together, looks and especially other's opinions of your looks should become insignificant. Doesn't really matter how or what u are. If I see 2 people on a bench sitting together and i think they look cute it doesn't matter if I know they are shy or not!
Cute is Cute no matter who or what you are.
