MB and zxcv have some good points and I have to agree and say yes, the world would be a much better place. The enviroment would be unspoilt, the animals would thrive amongst themselves and there wouldn't be any air/water pollution. The earth would not be robbed of it's valuable minerals & natural resources and most of all, peace will be restored to planet earth! I was watching a fishing trawler unload it's enormous catch today and wondered if the fish were able to multiply as fast as these boats were hauling them in. The amount of fish was astronomical.

It mostly depends on your prerogative. Humans are the main contributors to pollution in our world, so if you get rid of humans pollution will subside.
On the other hand, humans also are the soul to conservation, so if you take humans away, some species will start to dominate, and if that happens then if the have no time to adapt, they will run out of food and most will die. However since we don't know what will happen exactly, the true answer can very depending on religion...so on and so forth. Will the world be a better place if humans were extinct? I don't think so, but a reduced human population I believe would be better for the world.

Unfortunately Yes , We are destroying everything and i feel that although there are conversation projects etc in place , it may be a little too late. We as a society are too greedy , we rape the land without thinking of the other animals, creatures and plant life that we share this planet with.
For eg: if there is atree full off apples , we wont just take what we need or can eat , we will full up a bag , eat a few , share a few and just let the rest rot....

It depends. The world has never been a perfect place, and it probably wasn't all that better before humans came into existence. However, with the way people behave nowadays it probably would be.

There is no better or worse in the world. There only "is".
Evolution, the driving force behind life, doesn't give a damn about whether we are good for the planet or not. It just adapts.

No, there's such a mess left behind by us that before we go we'd better clean it up or leave a legacy of death for the species that survive us.

Doubtful. Since WE wouldn't be AROUND to actually CARE whether it is or not.
Not a very politically correct view, but then I'm quite partial to humans....
