It can be natural and probably is,but do not rule out possibility that they are being molested. Most everybody seems to think the child is a boy but it really does not matter because same things are true of both sexes. As another person said,kids are masters of "if it feels good...DO IT!" Question is, did child make innocent discovery or have the been"shown the way?" If they were "shown the way" then odds are pretty good they are being groomed for less pleasurable things in the future. You should do some research and find out what the other warning signs are for a child so young.

Are you sure it's masturbation and not fondling? It can be a comfort issue, nothing wrong in touching yourself down there. It naturally feels good, puppies hump when they are just a few weeks old. Most animals do. The child doesn't know what is socially acceptable. It's instinct. Nothing ot worry about.

He may be more advanced than a 10 month old, and this is not a joke. Put toys in front of him--stimulate his mind more for development, or if you have the money, have him tested--he is showing mental advancement that is not common for a 10 month old and the doctors you saw should lose their licenses! You son may be highly intelligent.

Yes, that is ok. To tell you the truth my son is three and still plays with his all the time. I would really use the word "masturbate " at his age. He is just getting to know himself. He is a child and that's what children do. Do not worry he will grow out of it.

This is normal, and I think to call it "masturbation" is a bit of an exaggeration. I think they are just touching there because of feels good, period. Don't worry about it, and encourage them to do something else without laying a big guilt trip on them. They will stop eventually.

Is the child actually masturbating or just touching themselves a lot? It is natural for a small child to touch themselves a lot but as for actually masturbating that would take coordination that a 10 month old would not possess.

Yes babies can masturbate, just like other people can. It feels good to them even if they don't reach orgasm. Just like it feels good to some children to rub their faces or body's with a blanket or other soft objects. Just because children are children does not mean that they don't' have the same feelings that we have. I have three children and I've babysat hundreds more and I've seen them all touching themselves a lot of the time and if you try to stop them they get very upset because it feels good to them as it does to us.

I dont really think its natural but u can do things to distract ur baby whenever he engages himself with this.u can give him a rattle or something to play spend more time with him. be with him constantly n let him know its wrong to continue with this habit. find out the root cause ie: from where he learnt this or seen this. if he is watching the wrong thing on tv probably dats the reason. or if he has seen any of his elders do it, do something about it.be with him all the time n let him know u love him no matter wat. make himwear diapers n clothes, n do not entertain him if he wants to remove it.

It is natural for even small babies to explore their bodies. Everything is so new to them.
Their little arms and legs are so short at first, that every time they have a growth spurt, they find something else they didn't know they had!

Yes. Some children that are 6 months old are shown to rub themselves to orgasm. And research shows that fetuses masturbate in the womb as well. You should read up on it. :D
