This is a math problem probability theory.
Anyone know how you go about doing this problem?
I did the combination formula and found out there are 25,827,165 million different combinations of 6 numbers between the numbers of 1-54. Is the probability of winning 1/25,827,165?

You are exactly right. There are 54 choose 6 ways to pick six numbers

C(54, 6) = 54! / 6! (54-6!)
= 54 x 53 x 52 x 51 x 50 x 49 / 720
= 25,827,165

If you only buy one ticket, your chance is 1 out of 25,827,165.

Lets say you have your six numbers.
When the lottery balls are chosen, the first ball to come up has a 6/54 chance of being one of yours. If it is, then the second ball has a 5/53 chance and so on.
6/54 * 5/53 * 4/52 * 3/51 * 2/50 * 1/49
this gives:
1/25827165
I get the same answer as you. I think its right.

I've always heard it was like one in 18 million. I have won 5 right, and that was only because I stood in line for so long in the FL lottery when it came out. I won over $4.800.00 just by lamely picking three numbers from the week before and adding my own. I have won in Mega Money too, just by throwing all the numbers out on the floor and picking them up. I would say your best bet is to throw all the numbers on the floor and pick some up. It worked in Mega Money and it's worked plenty of times in Cash 3. Another thing that works sometimes is looking at patterns. I've downloaded all the Cash 3 numbers and I've actually won 2 times from looking at numbers that followed each other and then played the number that came after those 2. Also have won by playing numbers that came up on the same date at least two times.

1 divided by (54 x 53 x 52 x 51 x 50 x 49)

or basically zero.

I do know that your chances of being struck by lightening are better than winning the lottery
