I have a friend that ended a 10 year relationship and is having a hard time of it. She keeps herself busy with work, house, kids but finds herself backsliding sometimes, although she knows it is all for the best. Are there any on line support groups that anyone can reccommend to get her thru the bad times. I try to listen and be supportive but I am not able to be there all the time.

I don't know of any specific groups, but just do a search on myspace.com. There are lots of groups and organizations represented there. If that doesn't work, google long term break up support group or a derivative.
It might sound overpowering, but you could call a counseling center. They always have support groups and grief sessions. It is nothing to feel bad about.
Good luck.

Good for you for being there for your friend and for asking this question. She is a lucky friend! Don't know of any support groups off hand. She could always try the crisis centre if things were to get really bad.

I think I have the perfect site for her to visit and I have recommended it often because it deals with divorce, self esteem issues and much more. Even if not support groups if she goes on Answers she can click on the avatar of many here who will offer to exchange mail or im with her when she feels the need to just talk to someone. convey my congratulations to her for getting out of the relationship becaue too many women do not. I hope the site helps her.

What you are doing is enough and its wise not to allow the problem to get to you either. Be there and show her she has a true friend and thats enough. You cannot live her life for her and she wilo get through the pain. It is tough to watch and even worse to see bitterness rear its ugly head from time to time. Keep telling her not to allow herself to be a victim but to be a survivor and a victor.

Pray for her, because God does react to prayer. She will be fine in time
