Don't trip if you re-read the instructions it most likely says somewhere to read the results within a time frame. for example, after you took it maybe it said wait three mins or something then read results, usually it will say discard any results that are past a certain amount of minutes. Plus there is a lot of bacteria in a trash can, u think? LOL

This type of test has a particular time frame where the reading is valid. Ignore what the test results say at a later time. The test is over and anything you see will not be a reliable indicator of results.

it may have been exposed to other things in the trash that contaminated the results. Go with the first "clean" test, or buy another test to confirm the results of the first one.

The chemical reaction in the test keeps going. Thats why you read them after a certain amount of time.
