I'm getting ready to be commissioned next month as a Second Lieutenant in the world's greatest army, the United States Army.

I keep hearing from all different kinds of people about how the U.S. Dollar is so weak, and about how the United States will fall on top of itself. What do you think about this? What do you think about Venezuela "vowing a united front against the arrogance of the United States."

If we invade Iran, can we expect Venezuela to come across the Caribbean Sea, gather some Cuban allies, and then cross the Gulf of Mexico and/or the Atlantic Ocean to attack/invade the United States?

Some 'Rambo's' among us here!!
The usual macho, cow boy crap!

This is exactly why America will fall!
Too much arrogance, ignorance and stupidity!

Our blood is reacher than others, so to speak!

Now, all this sh..ty attitudes and policies have caught with the US!

Unless, America changes its conduct and policies to wards others, not to mention many nations have been imposed upon and plundered out of their natural sources &........

Many nations are fed up with US
because of the past/present ''behaviours''!

You'll be the judge!

ADD1: some people suggesting about attacking Iran,
attacking this-that......eeeesssshhhhh!
They sure've been watching Toooooo much cow boy/war movies, i guess!!

First of, America (as supper power as it is!) is still tangled in Iraq, for years i might add. Longer than ww!!

2ND, Iran is nothing like Iraq (you know, the country that US is still tangled with!!). Iran is larger, greater army, capable of sinking ships, have good relation with Russia and China,.....

SO, may be it'll be wise if these cowboys chill down a bit, come down their high horses and quit watching action movies for a change, for crying out loud!!

Then may be, they'll be able to give some reasonable responses!!!!

ADD2: Now this guy, 'ronboy' cracks me up!
Israel takes Iran off in matter of days!!! What a joker!

I think the US will not be a superpower in the future. We will be A world power among other nations, not THE world power. However, I'm not worried about Venezuela. Chavez's bluster is just that. I do hope we don't attack Iran because their populace actually likes the US and hates the Iranian government. Any attack on Iran only solidifies their governmnents hold on their country.

Look man,In my book you are already a hero.As far as old Hugo and Cuba goes, they are a laughing stock, they could cause problems but not much more than we allow them.
If we invade Iran it won't be an invasion the way we think of.It will be more like Israel taking them out in a matter of days.
Also,I have faith in the brave men and women that are defending our country. You Sir are a true American, you and many like you.Don't ever let the left wing nuts cause you to believe anything else.
As far as our economy is concerned, we go through ups and downs and we always have.Don't concern yourself with this.
As far as being #1 in the world ,that doesn't really matter either. As long as the rest of the world and a few in our own country know,we will never be dominated or give up fighting for freedom as long as there is one true American left alive.

Whats wrong with you people,,,you act and talk like you would rather be somewhere else.If thats the case, then just leave,Im sure Iran could use a few more (recruits).

Um if you joined the military then that's your job to do what your told. Not chicken out.
It's like firefighter, you make great money but you aren't supposed to just sit around in the firehouse and not do your job.

No offense to anybody seriously. I know a couple military men that went in the military only for the benifits, and they protested when they were sent to Iraq. They signed up, it was their job.

Anyway, the United States Army is not the best actually, I not qualified to say which is best, but my grandfather and father say that the swiss are the best on their own territory (but that could be false nowdays)

If the US is considered "the power" mainly because of our economy and such. Japan would be a pretty big power if it weren't for certain rules applied to their military, same with Germany. Both have international military rules put down from WWII.

Nothing lasts forever. Being on top means being in the cross-hairs of all competition. Governments don't even last forever, let alone any dominant status. Given the way we have decided to throw our muscle around lately has certainly tarnished our world image. Where once we stood as a beacon of all that was good and true, we gave terrorists the biggest win they could have hoped for by altering our lives by conceding freedom to give us a salve for paranoia. I think in addition to not negotiating with terrorists, we should vow not to change our lives due to their cowardly deeds. We also should certainly never again act in a unilateral preemptive way. We may not like the way the rest of the world wishes to proceed, but to act in spite of them is to court disaster, and by disaster I mean that the next time (hoping there wont be a next time) we have a horrible attack on our nation, we may look to the rest of the world and find their backs turned to us.

1) Did you actually join the Army knowing that you are going to be put on the ground AFTER they have rendered everything radioactive with the airstrikes? Look up "Depleted Uranium Poisoning" on the web.
Do you realize they are keeping soldiers in the field for many times the recommended tour, then keep dragging them back after they go back to civilian life?

2) The dollar is ONLY backed by Arab oil, and the Arabs want out of that arrangement. The real reason Bush invaded Iraq is because Saddam wanted Euros in exhange for Iraqi oil instead of dollars. Chavez wants only Euros, too, which puts him on the short list.

The US officially entered the "Age of Empire" when Bush and his bunch took office. No country EVER survives that phase because it overextends its reach and collapses into massive debt while losing the support of every other country. This has played out time and again... the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Japanese Empire, British Empire, French Empire, Roman Empire... all ended the same. They collapse from within.

3) Chavez will not attempt to invade the US... Cuba doesn't have that many troops... so your statement is nonsense. He can keep from shipping oil to the US, though. Chavez is a blowhard.

If anything, we are already being invaded from the south because our border is not being enforced and thousands of illegal aliens are flooding into the US every day, and sending money back to their hometowns. The US being bled dry by parasites from within.

Rome was the longest standing Empire, even Rome fell. History teaches us that everything is possible and everything changes eventually. the U.S. WILL fall... eventually. Hopefully not too soon, and hopefully our founding ideals (freedom, liberty...) will not fall with it. All we can do, is be the best Representatives of our Nation, serve our people well (Thank you for your service). If we are invaded, defend our people and just ideals. There are no winners in war, but sometimes the horror of war is outweighed by the horrors of not wagging it.

1 we need better leadership. or just leadership actually someone who reaches across to our enemies and establish a dialog, also the dollar is falling because of this borrow and spend mentality the republicans have , between 3 republicans presidents we have accumulated 9 trillion dollars worth of debt which helps make the dollar weak, now china our number 1 contributor to our debt has announced that it will be dumping one billion dollars in Treasury bonds and many other countries that trade in the us dollar are switching currency, we are headed for a recession at best and perhaps another republican depression, hopefully we get a democrat in office and it isn't too late to save our country from super rich people that only care about making as much money as possible no matter the cost

Pretty serious thinking from a person who is about to risk his life for this country. We are all "blinded" by the fallacy that our country is "invincible", and if anyone needs proof of the insanity of that positive thinking--they should reflect about 9/11 and the many, many thwarted other attacks on our country. Our culture is too busy making and spending the almighty dollar to really spend time to sit and think about what else is going on in this country other than their own little house. Why do you think so many high profile actors, actresses, singers, etc. are getting so involved in politics? It's not because they need the publicity- on the contrary--their political views most likely will hurt their outcomes at the box offices, and certainly will warrant a close eye by "big brother" but their outcries should make bells ring and light bulbs finally go on in the minds of the people of the US. We need a wake up call and I hope it's not after another 911. God bless you for serving and protecting me and my family....may you return safely to your family.

I hope we don't invade Iran. I seriously doubt Venezuela will invade the United States, but if they do hopefully we will be prepared to protect our country. I wish you the best with your military career & that you stay safe. Thank you for fighting to protect our freedom.
