hey C, it's not cheating, cheating is when you let someone copy or write the essay for you. I'm just asking what they trying to say.

Oh, I thought you were asking for us to reword your statement that you wrote yourself.

well are you applying as a freshman or a transfer applicant because the prompts differ?

freshman #1:

tell us about who you are, where you come from, etc

transfer #1
What is your major? Why are you interested in the major and what have you done hands on in the field to pursue it?

both #2

What about you makes you who you are? It can be an experience, something about your personality, but what makes you the person you are.

I hope I helped now that I understand your question, you didn't originally give much detail which led to my assumptions.

Hi. This link has some info, but the rewording is a personal thing (no pun). http://www.ucop.edu/pathways/ucnotes/nov06/statement.html

Um, which prompt?

EDIT:

#1 - Basically, just explain the world around you (with examples) and how/why it builds up to your future dreams.

#2 - Talk about a quality, talent, accomplishment, or experience which you think has shaped your personality, beliefs, etc, or relates to who you really are.

******* EDIT ***************

It seems like the app has changed since I did it, which was only last year. There's only 2 essays now!!!!???

1. why are you the person you are now? Why do you have your goals and aspirations and tell us how your life, family and setting affect that?

2. Tell us something about yourself that you're proud of, and why are you proud of it.

When writing your essays, keep in mind your audience. They want to know why you should belong at that college, so write as if you're also answering that question.
