No, it means only that you can't measure it. In the same way kindness is non-quantifiable. Just because you can't measure it doesn't mean you can't identify it or think about it.

Ask the speaker what they meant. Inertia is a property of matter, and is quantifiable by inertial mass. It has been measured to be equal to gravitational mass, to within one part in 10^12. You can directly measure inertial mass by applying a force and measuring the resultant acceleration.

hey lemonade, your physics teacher is partly right. Inertia is directly proportional to mass. But we do not have a measurement for Inertia, and in fact due to the nature of Inertia it would be impossible to give it a measurement. I mean when you think about it what does 1 inertia or 2 inertia mean? Nothing.

My physics teacher said that mass is a quantative measure of inertia, and therefore that we can measure inertia by measureing mass. Are you sure about that?
