i'm pregnant?

Question

i need help, please if anyone can help me..

i am 16 years old. a junior in highschool. i've been with this amazing guy for almost 3 years, he has a job & so do i. he is 19 years old.... & that's the problem.
i recently have been feeling symtoms & i think i'm pregnant. i've been feeling very sick lately, but to be for sure, i'm going to go to a doctor. & here the catch, my dad's rasicst.
my boyfriend is black & italian. i'm white & mexican... i don't see the problem... my dad hates him to the extreme ; & ...
if i am pregnant by him, what will happen?
in the state of texas, can't they put him in jail? or is it up to me? please someone help me.

Check the age of consent laws in your state. If it says 16 then he can't be put in jail. If your dad is a racist why did he marry a person who isn't the same race as he is? Tell your dad to get with the times and be happy that he is going to be a grandfather.

The age for marriage is also 18. How long is it until your 17th birthday? This might be a gray area....I don't know. I live in Indiana for one....and all I know of Texas law is what I could look up online... But I saw your post and wanted to try to help. I have been scared and in a similar situation before.

In the state of Texas you are considered a minor until you are the age of 17. Also, you must be within 2 yrs of each other or it could be considered statutory rape (which your father can accuse your boyfriend of).

I would definitely find out if you are pregnant and then make a case as to why you want this child and how you can make this work...because you are still in high school (which might be a factor in their decision making process) and your parents do have a say in your life at this age.

Okay first off, relax. You are 16, which to my knowledge is the age of consent. Which means you can have sex more freely than someone under 16. But heis 19, which means he is an adult and you are not which is bad. Before going to the doctor take a home pregnancy test. If it comes out positive, then go see the doctor. If your dad loves you he will understand. If he is a bit on the mean side try talking to your mother or some other trusted adult that you know will be able to help you so he doesn't freak out.

And that he'll be labeled a sex offender. Even though you consented to it, it'll still be considered rape. It's not up to you. Well I dont think they can put him in jail unless they can prove he's the father or that you two are sexually active, which they cant do until the baby (if there is one) is born. I know this is controversial advice, but at your age I would reccommend an abortion. Even if you both have jobs, more than 75% of living wage jobs go to those who have a high school education or better, and you would have to drop out if you had the kid.

He will have several things happen for him. First off he will be convicted of statutory rape (sex with a minor, regardless of consent), and he will have to register as a sex offender and that record will follow him for the rest of his life. Registered sex offenders are pretty much shunned from society and its really hard for them to get a decent job. Their names get published in the news paper of the areas the live in.

It is not up to you to press charges or not, you are only 16 and under the custodianship of your parents, who press charges at their discretion. And like you said, your dad hates him so he will defiantly press charges. Like I said he will have to register as a sex offender after he is done serving his time in the Texas State Penitentiary.

Before you freak out too much, you should take a pregnancy test, and use protection in the future if it turns out that you're not.

I live in Texas and I think that if you or your parents press charges, then he'll have to register as a sex offender. That's all I think will happen. I'm not positive though. You should take a pregnancy test right away. I'm sorry that your dad is racist. I don't know what to do about that.
