ok, so i woke up about 30 minutes ago with SERIOUS stomach pains. so i go to the bathroom where i have runny pooh that is extremely painful and hard to push out(even though its runny). while im sitting there i get very dizzy and feel like im going to pass out. so in an attempt not to hurt myself, i lay on the floor where i sort of black out, but its like an in and out thing. when i get up i notice that i have used the bathroom all over the floor and myself. i feel better now, but ive never experienced anything like that. im 30 weeks pregnant. anyone with experience like this or knowledge of what the hell it was??? any input is greatly appreciated!!

Have youe heard of a Vagus Nerve response before? I got this off of Wikipedia:

"Activation of the vagus nerve typically leads to a reduction in heart rate, blood pressure, or both. This occurs commonly in the setting of gastrointestinal illness such as viral gastroenteritis or acute cholecystitis, or in response to other stimuli, including carotid sinus massage, Valsalva maneuver, or pain from any cause, particularly having blood drawn. When the circulatory changes are great enough, vasovagal syncope results. Relative dehydration tends to amplify these responses."

Symptoms of the vagus nerve response include severe stomach pain while attempting to defecate associated with diarrhea, nausea and possibly vomiting, sweating, head tingling and even feelings of passing out or fainting (vasovagal syncope).

Most people could just let it go, that they had a rough bowel movement due to eating something "bad or spoiled" or something that just did not agree with their intestinal tracts. However, since you are pregnant, you must consult with your doctor about the potential of FOOD POISONING (i.e. salmonella, e. coli., etc.) and the risk to your child. Personally, I would say that if you DON'T have any more episodes like this, you are safe to wait until the morning to call your doc, but do call first thing!

Bowel movements change because of pregnancy and throughout pregnancy, so that may have caused the runny stool. Illness and poor diet can also cause that.

Blacking out may be a sign that your blood pressure is too low, which is another somewhat common symptom of pregnancy.

I would suggest calling your doctor's night number (if he/she gave it to you) or calling the ER. Explain to them that you are 30 weeks pregnant and experiencing stomach pains, arunning stool and blacking out, and ask if you should go in to the ER to be checked out.

Pushing with the diarrhea can cause your blood pressure to get higher. If it does, then laying down on the floor may have lowered it too fast and there you have a blackout. Diarrhea is a sign of pre-eclampsia, as well as blacking out. I would call your doctor ASAP and tell them all about this.

It's not actually uncommon to black out due to extreme stomach pains and having to use the restroom really bad (this happened to me before and the ER doctor told me it's pretty common because of how your body reacts); however, since you are pregnant you need to go to the doctor immediately to make sure everything is alright.

You could have been dehydrated. have you been drinking lots of clear fluids? Some pregnant mothers find that what they used to be able to eat they cannot anymore as it makes them sick. is there any history of IBS? (irritable bowel syndrome) Ibs can get worse when pregnant. If it hurts when you push or an instant pooh attack/constapation are both signs/symptoms of IBS. If it happens again i would advice you speak with your doctor asap for you and your babys health.

That sounds pretty scary, you should have an emergency call into your doctor!!! You could be going into pre term labor!!! If you went to the bathroom on yourself you fainted, which can happen in pregnancy, maybe from the strain but you should absolutely go to the hospital!!!

Yes it seems to have something to do with your way of getting morning sicknesses.

Your body might just handle being pregnant a diffrent way then other people's do. The blackout could be stress, baby stress. could be anything.

But with you being pregnant. that gives a red flag that its nothing serious, just a bad prenancy issue. but just to be safe i would insist on a Doctor call or if it happens again go to the ER.

My honest opinion is to just take a deep breath and check to see whats wrong ^_^; im sure you'll be fine the Doctor would know if anything was wrong your in good hands and will be taken care off and everything will be all right ^^;

*Gives you a Hug for your problem* :) stay positive :D :D

That is weird. Could just be something you ate. Honestly I would call your OB. They have a night answering service for this reason.
I had my boys at 26.5 weeks so maybe I am paranoid but I figure it better to be safe.

Sounds like a case of blood pressure issues. Go to the hospital to be sure but when you black out it means you blood pressure isn't stable which could be dangerous. Also try to eat something that could help your blood pressure if it's too low.
