Why is Halo so hyped about?

Question

Why do you people consider Halo the best game of all time and why is it getting all the gaming awards? Although im not one to ***** but this is really getting on my nerves. Halo fans argue the fact that it gets all the awards but they miss the fact that halo is the cornerstone of xbox and obviously a powerhouse like microsoft can afford to advertise the **** out of it. The game itself is boring, repetitive and unoriginal, and a boring storline to go with it. So can someone explain why the hype?

p.s when it comes to gaming i couldnt care less about graphics

p.p.s Xbox is my second favorite gaming system so no preference in that area

Fanboys like to say because its too hard for me, but i passed the first 2 games on warrior mod

Counter Strike on xbox is just as good multiplayer

I have to agree with you. I haven't played any of the Halo games and I haven't had any of the Xbox consoles, I own all of the Playstation consoles, and I don't really see what is so special about Halo.

I mean, any game developer can make a First Person Shooting game. And just to give you an example, the developer that created the Spyro series for the Playstation made Resistance Fall of Man for the Playstation 3!!! I didn't think that they could pull it off, but that game is awesome and has sold over 2 million games on the PS3 so far.

There is nothing about Halo that makes it the best game of all time. I mean I personally think that the First Person Shooter genre has gotten almost a little too repetitive even though I like shooters. If a Shooter doesn't have a good story along with it, then it shouldn't even be made.

Without Halo, the Xbox consoles wouldn't be nothing. There's a Xbox 360 Limited Edition Halo Console, there was Halo Mountain Dew, a Xbox 360 Halo controller, the entire Xbox console is built around one game and that's a shame. At least the Playstation 3 and Wii don't have to build their image on one game.

I guess that the only reason why Halo is so hyped is because it was the first major exclusive title for the Xbox, and the Xbox was a new console at the time. Also there is one other reason why I think Halo has become so popular and it's because it reminds me so much of Star Wars. All of the characters in Halo wear these costumes/armor and it looks a lot like the drones with the white armor in the Star Wars series. I don't know, that's just my opinion.

The reason why Halo gets so much hype is because it was the first console game to have a multiplayer experience on par with that of PC games.
Halo 2 improved on the multiplayer experience, and Halo 3 did the same. People like it alot mainly because of the multiplayer, if you don't have Xbox Live, then you'll never understand.
The story is also really good, although Halo 2 wasn't that great, the overall storyline is really good.

Good story + fun online experience = huge fan base in the console market.

I like how you said, you like the classic games (GTA San Andreas) what is that supposed to mean? Thats not an old game, it is good but no classic yet. Give it a few years and maybe you can call it that. As far as your Halo comment goes, I know your just saying that to cause an uproar because you cant not like Halo 3. It is so well put together and it will be one day be considered a "classic"

Yeah they were fun beat them all on legendary got all the achievements on 3. But after that well thats about it. They multiplayer got old fast to me and it just wasn't much fun anymore. Which is weird cause I logged so many hours on halo 2 online. I just think I grew out of the series and its not that new anymore. Plus I only have two other friends that own it so I'm sure that doesn't help. But anyways.

It is considered the best because lots of people have it and play it, although it really is a matter of opinion. I personally do not care for it. It is kind of McDonald's fries. They are america's #1 fry even though they suck. So there you have it. Microsoft pushed it so there for it is the #1 game. The big corporations always decide what the populas likes and is "into".

hoestly I love the game It beats every other game to bits. But It's bassed off a book. The book is very good it self. Play the game (all three) beat it and you'll find out why it's so good

Majority of the people like this game because the things are much different than other first person shooter games. This is game is one of my personal favorites.
