Also, what is the best way to get rid of it? I already have zinc strips on my roof, it helps but is not 100%. Please be specific as possible.

I use powdered laundry detergent. I get the large container at costco, the cheapest I can find without bleach. I spinkle it on the roof. It doesn't have to be heavy just get it on the areas with the moss. It will kill the moss and when it rains it also tends to wash it off the roof. It is less harmfull to the roof, gutters, and lawn than bleach. And safer to use.

Cut all the trees down so the sun can shine through.

Don't look for 100% solution. It would be a waste of time.
You have to get on the roof and start cleaning. Not sure what the product would be, but you should be able to find it.

Bleach comes to mind, but it stops there, so you'll have to check that out.

Moss gross in shade, damp places. That's why you'll see moss growing in the woods.

Would rather see you clean than cut down a tree.

If your roof is shaded you will always have the moss, to get rid of it spray with a strong mixture of bleach and water. I have also heard that strips of copper work in controlling the moss as well.
