Ok. Heres the problem. I have a laptop and it was working fine one day, I shut it down and about 2 days later I started it up again, but the screen remained black. You could hear all the noises during the startup, but again the screen stayed black. I don't know what to do about this. I bought the laptop early last year. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hey, I'm a technician for gateway computers... you're backlight on the screen is either burnt out or the cable that connects it has come lose. Depending on how much you use it, a backlight can burn out in as little as a year. Either way, you'll have to bring it in somewhere to be fixed, wouldn't try anything yourself. Hope this helps :)

It looks like your screen has malfunction or it broke.
If you have a desktop computer, simply plug the monitor into your laptop port in order for you to use your laptop again.

Until you can get it repair.

Hi. Either the screen died (not likely) or the hinge cable failed. Have a tech look at it.
