A complaint about what? you haven't provided enough information for a sound answer. Have you filed this complaint with the police? In some jurisdictions, you would have to start there.

For small claims court it can be as little as $15 in some cases. For a Superior court case in some States it can be hundreds. If you tell us the State and "approximate" amount you want to sue for, we can help you more.

is it a civil matter like small claims like someone owes you money? typically 10 to 65 dollars
