I wouldn't just walk on by, but I wouldn't give them a love touch either. Simply speak with them for a moment. When I cut the ties, I cut the ties.

A few years ago my first love, whom I met my now wife of fifty years through, called after a visit to our town. Her and her sister, their husbands, were in town and wanted to visited.
I had to work but, her and my wife spent the day together and were so interested in us they stayed another day. We had a great time, hashed over many past times and events, became good friends and called every so often.

I walked into, literally, my first love about 6 years after we broke up. I was married at that time and my husband was with me. I was happy to see him, asked him how he was doing and he said "I'm fine and I don't want to talk to you" and walked away. It was sad.

My first love is still a friend of mine,,,,and I still love him,,,,but I don't like him much....I have grown up, and I know he is not perfect person I thought he was.....and sometimes he is selfish, and conceited, so I am glad it didn't work out,,,,he is better as a friend.......I wouldn't want to live with him.....but once I love someone, I always love them,,,,even If I don't like them,,,,,,

We'd probably hug and talk since we're still friends, we were together when I was 17 until 21, since then he had moved back to Manchester, married and is doing well for himself and his family.
